Quick Bites

  • Where is Revel Brewing Co.? 41 Oxford St, Bulimba, Queensland.
  • When is Revel Brewing Co. open? Monday-Thursday, 4pm-9pm. Friday-Sunday, 1pm-10pm.

Down by the wharf in the great South East sits a quaint little ‘home’ with angular lines and colours drawn from the nearby Bulimba Ferry. Equal parts pizzeria and brewery, Revel Brewing Co. combines community, culture, sustainability, and a passion for independently-crafted beer. We may have just found our new local watering hole.

Snatch up a spot inside among the ceiling-high tanks quietly fermenting the very New World Lager you’re sipping, or soak up some Brissy sun in the charming beer garden (four-legged friends welcome). Wander in after dark to dine casually under the festoon lights.

Revel Brewing Co. is the perfect family spot to toast Dad this Father’s Day, with an American Brown Ale in one hand and a slice of hand-stretched, wood-fired capricciosa in the other.

Green Beacon Brewing Co

Quick Bites

  • Where is Green Beacon Brewing? 26 Helen St, Teneriffe, Queensland.
  • When is Green Beacon Brewing open? Monday-Sunday, 12pm-late.

Behind a garage roller door nestled in the heart of Teneriffe hides one of Brisbane’s best brewpubs, for casual and adventurous beer drinkers alike. Inside, brewers, bar staff and busboys are bound by one common love: beer.

Also served on site is a small selection of seafood bites sourced from a handful of local and like-minded farmers, so you can slurp oysters while you sip brewskies.

Over at the taps you’ll find the passionfruit-y 7 Bells Ale, the refreshingly smooth Wayfarer USA American Ale, and the complex and robust British Ale made from five specialty malts. Don’t forget to look up. Towering overhead are the giant stainless steel fermenters waiting for you to try their crafty work.

In the wise words of Green Beacon Brewery Co: Don’t drink it because it’s craft beer, drink it because it’s good beer.

Quick Bites

  • Where is Ballistic Beer Salisbury? 53-55 McCarthy Rd, Salisbury, Queensland.
  • When is Ballistic Beer open? Thursday, 4pm-7pm. Friday, 1:30pm-10pm. Saturday, 1pm-10pm. Sunday, 1pm-7pm.

Set in an old World War II ammunition factory in the historic, industrial suburb of Salisbury is the mother of Brisbane breweries, Ballistic Beer. Providing an authentic brewery experience, the sound of friendly banter, clinking glasses and churning beer taps is music to the ears – with actual live music too.

Take a tour of HQ which houses the production of Ballistic’s own traditional and boundary-pushing brews, featuring a cellar door-style bar where all the magic happens. But first, line your belly – we mean really line it – with a rotating range of local food trucks invited on-site weekly.

Eyes widen at the intense tap line. Start with a Cold One from their core range. But prepare for foam head FOMO over the experimental single-batch brew Dad just ordered – round two perhaps. Ballistic Beer even offers a low-carb beer, perfect for the Dad bod-conscious on Father’s Day.

Can’t decide? The staff are nothing short of beer aficionados here – let them run the show.
